In September 2020, Wavenet was chosen by private bank Degroof Petercam to participate in the development of MyDP, an app dedicated to managing banking data and investments. The goal was to provide customers with a simple and secure solution to track the performance of their portfolios, view their account history, and access documents and messages sent by the bank. Users can also make important actions such as electronically signing contracts.

This mobile solution was designed to ensure an optimal experience, even on the go, by providing access to all key features.

The challenge

The project presented several technical challenges. First, data security was a priority, with every back-end modification having to be rigorously verified to avoid any risk. The complete redesign of the front-end involved understanding the existing application while meeting new requirements, which required great flexibility and an agile SCRUM methodology. In addition, changes in the web services sometimes called into question the front end, creating necessary adjustments without immediate explanation. Development was also carried out on the basis of mock APIs, which created uncertainty with the final versions of the APIs. Finally, working in a multi-project environment, with shared integration tests, added complexity to the management of the validation and acceptance phases.

Thanks to close collaboration with the Degroof Petercam teams, these challenges were overcome, enabling the delivery of a high-performance and secure solution.
